January 26/27, 2003
Well, we have spent the last few days just hanging with Lily. On the 26th me and the boys went downtown to a department store. It was five levels high and full of everything you can think of... oh, actually it was six stories including the basement which was like a publix. We had a lot of fun, Jeremy bought a video game for his gameboy that we discovered was "bomberman" which was disappointing for him because the box, cartridge and everything else said it was "shaq fu", he is worried that China does not know Shaq is a basketball star :) Jonah got a cool little car for about three bucks that he put together. His friend says they cost $25.00 in the US. We also visited a McDonalds and the boys got a big mac meal "upsized" and they were very pleased. When we returned to the hotel we played with Lily in the playroom. While we were gone Mom and Lily played in our room, the playroom and the hallway. The 6th floor hallway of the hotel is a regular meeting spot of all the baby girls, they hang together, trade toys, snacks and sometimes even cry together!
On the 27th we hung out at the hotel, the boys went swimming... Lily was afraid of the water at first but then she wanted to jump in, the water was too cold so we are going to wait and see if there is a warm pool in Guangzhou. I had to go downtown again to get some money and a big mac meal for the mommy. As you know, Melissa hates McDonalds, but after this long in China she just wanted something American! I also hit a small video game store during the day and got Jeremy and Jonah a new game... I haggled the guy down to 100 rmb which is $12.50 for both! What a country! Lily keeps getting cuter and cuter, she is learning new things everyday and it is a joy for us to watch her discovering new things.
